Parental/Guardian Consent for Youth Mentoring
Dear Parent/Guardian,

We’re excited to let you know about an opportunity for your young person to take part in our Youth Mentoring programme at Counterslip Baptist Church. This initiative is part of our wider vision to support young people in growing in their faith through intentional, Jesus centred conversations with a trusted mature Christian adult from within our church community.

Purpose of the Mentoring Programme:
The purpose of this mentoring relationship is to encourage and support your young person in:
-
Growing in their relationship with Jesus
-
Learning more about Jesus
-
Navigating life’s challenges with biblical guidance and prayerful support
-
Building positive, healthy connections within the church

Safeguarding:
We take safeguarding very seriously. All mentors are trusted members of our church community and have an up-to-date DBS check. For a copy of our safeguarding policy, please email me or the church office.
We will ensure that all meetings between mentor and mentee take place at an agreed time and location, and in accordance with our safeguarding guidelines, which include:
-
Mentoring should happen in public settings or spaces approved by parents and leaders.
-
No one-to-one meetings in private homes unless another adult is present
-
Communication will be transparent and accountable (e.g. via group chats or shared with a parent/youth leader)
Meeting Frequency:
The frequency and timing of mentoring sessions will be discussed and agreed between the mentor and mentee, with flexibility for what works best for all involved. You will always be informed of when and where the mentoring is taking place.

Next Steps:
If you are happy for your young person to take part, please complete the consent form using the QR code below or following this link: www.counterslip.org/youthmentoring
