Corona Virus and Church update (18/03/2020)
I hope and pray that you are well and that you are holding on to your hope and faith in Christ at this time. Please know that as a team, Jacob, myself, the Elders and the Deacons are keeping you all in prayer, and I hope to speak to many of you on the phone over the next few days.
A big thank you to those who have volunteered to make the food bank happen this week. It will not be the usual full service but it will be a scaled down version of what we usually do so that we can continue to support some of the most in need people in our community at this time. Please Church, keep these people and our volunteers in prayer as they come together this Friday morning. Graham continues to monitor the situation and seek wisdom for how to adhere to government advise, while also providing a much needed service for those in need. Please keep him in prayer as he and the food bank team look for ways to keep loving and serving our community.
Sunday Morning Gathering:
As we mentioned in our last email to you, we will not be meeting this Sunday morning (or evening). We had hoped to encourage people to meet in home groups or small home gatherings. However the latest advise from government is not to meet in groups of any size. So please take this advise seriously and look after yourselves by avoiding group situations.
We will still be coming together to worship Jesus and hear from His word as church on Sunday morning, but we will be doing it in the comfort of our own homes.
We will be uploading a short service video, including some led prayer time, a song of worship, a short sermon, and of course a couple of notices!! (haha). This video will appear on youtube, and on our website. Once the video is uploaded we will email out the web link for it. We appreciate that not everyone is a big internet user and so Andrea is going to make the service available on DVD for people as well. If you, or anyone you know, would like a DVD version please email Andrea (email@example.com) or call the office as soon as possible, or by Friday morning at the latest, so she knows how many DVD's to produce.
Finally please keep each other in prayer, there are those in our community who have various health situations, those who are currently isolated and on their own, those who have concerns around their jobs and income at this time, along with many other needs. But we believe in a God who is good and faithful. Let's be keeping our eyes on Him and lifting each other to Him at this time.
I want to reiterate that myself and the Elders are praying for you, and we are only at the end of the phone should you want to talk or pray.
I know that this is true for many others in our church as well, we are here for each other. Stay in touch with one another throughout this time, maybe over the phone, or if you are in a home/small group and are able then set up a whatsapp group or a facebook messenger group. Continue to "speak to one another with psalms, hymns and songs from the Spirit" (Eph 5:19) and "encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing" (1 Thess. 5:11).
May you know His peace at this time, and may your faith in Him who is able to do more than all we ask or image continue to grow and deepen.
God bless you
